The Knife of Never Letting Go review

The Knife of Never Letting Go (Chaos Walking, #1)Todd Hewitt is the last boy in Prentisstown.
But Prentisstown isn't like other towns. Everyone can hear everyone's  thoughts in a constant, overwhelming never-ending Noise. There is no privacy. There are no secrets.

Or are there?
Just one month away from the birthday that will make him a man,Todd unexpectedly stumbles upon a spot of complete silence. Which is impossible. Prentisstown has been lying to him. And now he's going to have to run...

The Knife of Never Letting Go is a good book with the message don't believe everything you hear. Todd is the last boy in Prentisstown. and he can't wait to become a man at the age of thirteen. All the women have been destroyed by the Spackle and there is only men left. That's what Todd thinks anyway. The truth couldn't be more different.

There is character development in this which is good in my books(no pun intended). This book is dark and grim and should never be read in the dark. Todd, the main male character, is likeable and serious when he should be but also cracks a joke from time to time. Viola, the main female character, landed because of a crash landing in a spaceship and Viola is stuck on Earth for seven months. At first i thought this idea didn't really fit in with the book but as I read the book it gradually made more sense in the universe that Ness created.

The villains are despicable. The villains are definitely the most baddest(for lack of a better word) villains in all the books that I read. The main villain is this book is Aaron and he gets what he deserves. The book is setting up the villain for the next book which will be the Mayor of Prentisstown.

Some bits feel rushed like the fork bit ,others feel slow paced like the quest for water.

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

This week I'm reading The Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness

The Knife of Never Letting Go (Chaos Walking, #1)His Noise is awful clear and I mean awful in the awful way. He believes, see, that order can be brought to Noise.

The Name of This Book Is Secret review

The Name of This Book Is SecretWarning: this description has not been authorized by Pseudonymous Bosch. As much as he'd love to sing the praises of his book (he is very vain), he wouldn't want you to hear about his brave 11-year old heroes, Cass and Max-Ernest. Or about how a mysterious box of vials, the Symphony of Smells, sends them on the trail of a magician who has vanished under strange (and stinky) circumstances. And he certainly wouldn't want you to know about the hair-raising adventures that follow and the nefarious villains they face. You see, not only is the name of this book secret, the story inside is, too. For it concerns a secret. A Big Secret

Cass and Max-Ernest are friends who find a magician's notebook   and some of the pages have been ripped out so they go on a quest to find the missing pages. They end up at a spa run by a old lady and there's a skeleton sister in the spa.

This was a great book. I was turning the next page as soon as  i could. It's a gripping read.

The London eye mystery review

When Ted and Kat watched their cousin Salim get on board the London Eye, he turned and waved before getting on. But after half an hour it landed and everyone trooped off - but no Salim. Where could he have gone? How on earth could he have disappeared into thin air?

So Ted and his older sister, Kat, become sleuthing partners, since the police are having no luck. Despite their prickly relationship, they overcome their differences to follow a trail of clues across London in a desperate bid to find their cousin. And ultimately it comes down to Ted, whose brain works in its own very unique way, to find the key to the mystery.

This book was amazing. Ted and Kat's cousin Salim came to visit with Aunt Gloria. The family suggested to go to the London eye. Salim went off but he didn't get off.

This book was in the view of Ted who is autistic. Ted wants to solve the mystery and has plenty of theories about where  Salim is but his family won't listen to him. Ted and Kat bond together to solve the mystery and they form a new relationship.

When you think you know where Salim is a twist comes and knocks your theory out of the water. Once the mystery is solved it's something nobody will see coming.

I only have one flaw with this book and that is some bits are really slow paced but other than that this book is perfect.
