Teaser Tuesdays#6

This week i'm reading January by Gabrielle Lord.

The first thing I noticed when I walked in the house was how unusually quiet it was. Mum had left a note on the fridge.

If you're reading this it's too late review.

Out of the two recent read sequels, This was one by far the best. I really like Bosch's quirky writing style. Many have compared it too Lemony Snicket. I cannot comment on that since I haven't read any of those books. This book is great with the old characters and the new ones. It has plenty of references to the first book. Bosch also makes sure that readers who picked this one up not knowing it was part of a series understand some of the bits that were going on. There was never a dull bit. I am proud to give this book my first ever 5 star rating.

The ask and the answer review

The Ask and the Answer (Chaos Walking, #2)
The good things about sequels is that you know the characters and don't have to waste time introducing them. You can just jump straight into the answer. Ness thinks differently. He thinks that we don't know who these characters are and introducing them is a must. I will read the final book in the series so i know how everything will be resolved and I can't stand not knowing what's going to happen.

The City of Ember review

The City of Ember (Book of Ember, #1)

Many hundreds of years ago,the city of Ember was created by the builders to contain everything needed for human survival. It worked... but now the storerooms are almost out of food, corruption is spreading throughout the city and worst of all-the lights are failing. Soon Ember could be engulfed by darkness...

But when two children,Lina and Doon discover fragments of an ancient parchment, they begin to wonder if there could be a way out of Ember. Can they decipher the words from long ago and find a new future for everyone?

The City of Ember has been around for 200 years(Not the book) Food is running out ,Blackouts are happening more often and Ember is falling apart. Lina and Doon discover a long lost scroll and they start looking for a way out of Ember.

I liked this book.not loved but liked. Lina and Doon were believable characters. The plot wasn't too far-fetched. It had some plot twists that I didn't see coming and I enjoyed this read.

The book started off slow paced but it picked speed up about chapter 6-7. It had some interesting chapters but a slow paced one always follows a interesting chapter.

I will be reading the sequel since I liked this book and I hope the sequel will improve on the areas that were bad.

3.5/5
